"24 And this I have told you concerning Jerusalem; and when that day shall come (the Romans in 70 A.D. destroyed the Jewish tempile and captured Jerusalem), shall a remnant (of the Jews) be scattered among all nations;
25 But they (the Jews) shall be gathered again; but they shall remain (in Palestine today?) until the times of the
Gentiles be fulfilled ;
26 And that day shall be heard of wars and rumors of wars, and the whole earth shall be in commotion, and men’s hearts shall fail them, and they shall say that Christ delayeth his coming until the end of the earth.
27 And the love of men shall wax cold, and iniquity shall abound.
28 And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a light shall break forth among them that sit in darkness, and it shall be the fulness of my gospel (the restored Church).
29 But they (the Gentiles) receive it not; for they perceive not the light, and they turn their hearts from me (Jesus Christ) because of the precepts of men (so it was written and so it is happening before our very eyes).
30 And in that generation shall the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled" (Doctrine and Covenants Section 45: 24-29).
The gospel would be taken from the Gentiles and given to the remnant of Israel including the Jews. What can we expect to happen in Palestine?
"2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 ¶And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it...
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God.
6 ¶In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. (I, Eldon, have lived to see the Jews return to Palestine and win wars that were appeared to be impossible for them to win.)
8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.
8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.
9 ¶And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn" ( Holy Bible, 'Zechariah' Chapter 12: verses 2,3,5,6,9,10).
The gospel would be restored to the Gentiles and would be taught by the Gentiles to the descendents of Lehi: Laman, Lemuel, and Nephi:

25 Zion shall flourish upon the hills and rejoice upon the mountains (Utah is a Ute Indain name that means: tops of the mountains), and shall be assembled together unto the place which I have appointed (mountains) (Doctrine and Covenants 49: 24-25). As fortold by the Lord in 1831, the saints have gathered to Utah and are a mighty people. Also, the Lamanites are blossoming as a rose in Central America.
When the State of Missiouri was killing the Mormons and driving Mormons out of the State of Missouri in the 1840's. The Lord revealed the following to Joseph Smith: "I prophesied that the saints would continue to suffer much affliction and would be driven to the Rocky Mountains. Many would apostaatize, many would be put to death by our persecutors...or lose their lives in consequense of exposure or disease, and some of you will...see the saints become a mighty people in the midst of the Rockey Mountains" (History of the Church, Volume 5, p. 85). Little chance the Saints would be anything but dead or scattered in the 1840's. I was born in Utah, a son of the pioneers through all of my lines. The Saints did become a mighty people in the Rocky Montains. I am one of them. So it was fortold by the Lord, and so it was done. My faith is baised on knowledge, common sense, and judgement. Many base their beliefs on prejudice, desires, or hype. My belief is based on the facts.
More from the Book of Mormon on Lamanite Conversion in the last days:
More from the Book of Mormon on Lamanite Conversion in the last days:
"... that in the latter days, when our seed (descendents of Nephi and his brothers, or some of the native Americans) shall have dwindled in unbelief, yea, for the space of many years, and many generations after the Messiah shall be manifested in body unto the children of men, then shall the fulness of the gospel of the Messiah come unto the Gentiles (restored Church), and from the Gentiles unto the remnant of our seed—(the natives of Guatemela recognize their traditions and history as recorded in the Book of Mormon).
14 And at that day shall the remnant of our seed (some of the American Indains) know that they are of the house of Israel, and that they are the covenant people of the Lord; and then shall they know and come to the knowledge of their forefathers, and also to the knowledge of the gospel of their Redeemer, which was ministered unto their fathers by him; wherefore, they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer and the very points of his doctrine" (Book of Mormon, '1 Nephi' 15: 13-14). So it was fortold, and so it is being done in Central America.. Missionaries from the Chruch of Jesus Christ are teaching the Native Americans, and they are joining the Church by the thousands. Today there are fewer converts among the Gentiles.
What happening now in the Church?
"...the Gentiles will be gathered by the thousands to this place, and Salt Lake City will be classed among the wicked cities of the world. A spirt of speculation and extravagance will take possession of the Saints, and the results will be financial bondage. Persecution comes next, and all true Latter-day Saints will be tested to the limit. Many will apostatize..." (Heber C. Kimball, as published in the Deseret News, May 23, 1931). Regardless, the Lamanites will blossom as a rose.
I base my faith on what I know to be true. I know what I have written here in to be true.
